Harpist Extraordinaire

Tasha Robinson

Tasha enjoys singing and connecting the tunes to stories, using her harps in non-conventional ways to entertain the audience and break down walls that can sometimes occur in classical settings.

Additional Information

Tasha Robinson has played the harp for the last 35 years. She has trained at the Cincinnati Conservatory, University of Toronto and the Glenn Gould Professional School. Tasha has performed throughout the United States and Canada.

Most recently Tasha sold out her own show 2 weeks ahead of time for the Selby Gardens at Historic Spanish Point in Sarasota Florida. This show featured her on Celtic and Electroacoustic harps while storytelling and singing. Tasha plays for the National Orchestra of the Dominican Republic, Punta Gorda Symphony and the Gulf Coast Symphony of Ft. Meyers. She has been Principal Harpist with the Ocala Symphony for over a decade.

Tasha performs on a variety of harps. She has a Lyon and Healy Style 23 which is a 47-string acoustic concert harp used primarily for orchestral and chamber venues. She also has a 36-string Triplett Celtic harp which she uses for teaching and Celtic music venues. Her favorite newest harp is a Rainbow finish Salvi 47-string electroacoustic harp. This harp is made for large venues and each individual string has its very own pick-up microphone. The finish is an iridescent color and is aqua, purple or blue depending on the lighting behind it or on it.

Tasha’s passion is to share her harps through singing and storytelling. She has shared these shows with many different venues from Selby Public Library in Sarasota, Florida to venues as far as San Antonio, Texas. Tasha performs weekly for First Sarasota the Downtown Baptist Church and enjoys traveling from as far south as the Dominican Republic and all points north.

Performing on the Celtic Harp.

Electroacoustic Harp

This 47-string Salvi Harp made in Italy can be played both acoustically and electronically. Each string has its own mic pick-up.

Sierra Harp

Made in California by Triplett Harps, this 37-string harp is great for out door performances as it holds its pitch and projects well.

Lyon and Healy Harp

Traditional acoustic 47-string harp made from Birds Eye Maple. Its column and soundboard are designs based off the Victorian era and best for orchestral playing because of its phenomenal tone.
